Murder by Decree je britansko-kanadski igrani film koga je 1978. režirao Bob Clark. Radnja je smještena u viktorijanski London godine 1888. a glavni protagonist fiktivni detektiv Sherlock Holmes (koga tumači Christopher Plummer) koji nastoji otkriti serijskog ubicu poznatog kao Jack Trbosjek. Scenarij je bio inspiriran knjigom Jack the Ripper: The Final Solution Stephena Knighta iz 1976. godine, koja je iznijela danas prilično popularne teorije zavjere vezane uz Trbosjekov identitet i motive.
Film je nagrađen s 5 Genieja (kanadski ekvivalent "Oscara") - uključujući najbolju režiju, najboljeg glavnog glumca (Plummer) i najbolju sporednu glumicu (Bujold).
U bivšoj Jugoslaviji je prikazivan u kino-dvoranama pod nazivom Sherlock Holmes protiv Jacka Trbosjeka, a kasnije pod nazivom Ubojstvo po naredbi.
