Michael Cunningham (rođen 6.11. 1952.) je američki nagrađivani pisac, najpoznatiji po svom romanu The Hours (Sati), za koji je dobio Pulicerovu nagradu, 1999. godine i po kome je snimljen istoimeni film.

Biografija

Rođen je u Cincinnatiju, ali je odrastao u Pasadeni u Califoniji. Na Stanfordu je studirao engleski književost. Danas predaje u Fine Arts Work Center u Provincetownu i na Brookyn Collegeu.

Iako je Cunningham otvoreno gej i živi sa parterom 18 godina, ne voli da ga smatraju samo „gej piscem“, jer iako činjenica da je gej bitno utiče na njegov rad, on smatra da to nije (i ne treba da bude) njegova ključna osobina[1].
