Plava senica (lat. Cyanistes caeruleus[1] ili Parus caeruleus[2]) vrsta je ptice pevačice iz porodice senica (Paridae). Ova ptica je lako prepoznatljiva po svojim plavim i žutim perjem. Plave senice se uglavnom hrane insektima i paukovima. Izvan sezone parenja, hrane se i semenjem i drugom biljnom hranom.
Podvrste
Danas postoji barem devet podvrsta plave senice:[3]
- C. c. caeruleus – (Linnaeus, 1758): nominalna podvrsta, živi u kontinentalnoj Evropi do severne Španije, Sicilije, severne Turske i severnog Urala
- C. c. obscurus – (Pražák, 1894): Irska, Britnija i Kanalska ostrva[4]
- C. c. ogliastrae – (Hartert, 1905): Portugal, južna Španija, Korzika i Sardinija
- C. c. balearicus – (von Jordans, 1913): ostrvo Majorka (Balearska ostrva)
- C. c. calamensis – (Parrot, 1908): južna Grčka, Peloponez, Kikladi, Krit i Rodos
- C. c. orientalis – (Zarudny & Loudon, 1905): južni delove evropske Rusije (dolina reke Volge do centralnog i južnog Urala)
- C. c. satunini – (Zarudny, 1908): Krimsko poluostrvo, Kavkaz, Zakavkazje i severozapadni Iran do istočne Turske
- C. c. raddei – (Zarudny, 1908): severni Iran
- C. c. persicus – (Blanford, 1873): planine Zagros
