Ronald Reagan era oficial da reserva da Cavalaria na época. Seu papel foi oferecido pela primeira vez a James Cagney.[2] De acordo com a Variety, as cenas de corrida de cavalos foram filmadas no Santa Anita Racetrack, Califórnia.
