Rufus King Garland Jr.

American politician

Rufus King Garland Jr. (May 22, 1830 – December 12, 1886) was a farmer, lawyer, and politician in Arkansas. He represented Hempstead County, Arkansas in the Arkansas House of Representatives before the American Civil War. He served in the Confederate Congress and was a delegate to the 1874 Arkansas Constitutional Convention.[1]

He was born in Tipton County, Tennessee, the older brother of Augustus Hill Garland. He moved to Arkansas and served in the state legislature from 1858 to 1861. He served in the Confederate States Army and represented the state in the Second Confederate Congress from 1864 to 1865.

He died near Prescott, Arkansas.[1]
